Another question asked IF the US were divided into the USSA (United Socialist States of America) and Jesus Land where would I be?

Why did the Democrats get Red and the Republicans get Blue? Shouldn't it be the other way around? After all the Democrats foster many more socialist ideas than Republicans and Socialist countries before the fall of the wall had flags with large quantities of Red on them.

And conservatives are always compared to the blue bloods and old money.

So shouldn't the colors be switched?

Don't get too serious with your answer. It's Friday you know.

In the 80s, some TV news networks used red and blue oppositely; everyone using the same colors is a more recent development.

While Cons always want to paint the Dems as 'red,' I think it's just as well the colors are the way they are.

Republicans murder more people (red for blood) while Dems do nothing but sing the blues.

I think they intentionally did it that way so that no one could or would compare the colors with the actual politics of it all.
