I have noticed that they have put wet wipes in grocery stores to clean your buggie from germs. Has there been a case of someone becoming ill from pushing buggies in the grocery store? I'm just wondering what started this.

im glad they caught up.....ive been wiping the handles with baby wipes since i had my kids...imagine how many sick and or dirty, runny nosed little kids sit in the front of those things touching the handle after wiping there nose or coughing....now walk in knowing this and grab one....eeeeewwwwww yuk! those handles are just as germ infested as the bathroom door and most of us use a papertowel to open it so whats the difference?

I haven't seen this, but then, I live in a small town with 2 grocery stores. I hate to join the Sanitation Police, but this is probably a good idea. Just think of all the infants and toddlers who are chewing on and slobbering on the handlebars, not to mention their sticky little hands transferring whatever snack they may have onto the cart. Wipes will help prevent you from catching whatever they have and vice versa.

I haven't saw this , but I can only guess they did this because, think of how many people handle these buggies everyday, I always feel grossed out by touching them. It's so easy to pass colds and flu viruses like this. Hope my stores does this.

There has been a lot of attention from the media on how many bacteria are on the handles of the carts. From Dateline to the Tyra show, they have shown the amount of bacteria and the kinds. The most common...ecoli (from feces). It's really gross.
