That's just when you get a better phone than the one you have. Or just a different one. You call customer service or go inot a Cingular store and pick one out. You don't have to pay full price for the new phone you get.

Upgrading means you can get a new (better) phone. Cingular allows you a certain amount for an upgrade which can be towards a new phone. You can use this to get a phone for free or as a discount on a more expensive phone.

If you go to Cingular.com, you can look up how much you have towards an upgrade as well as shop for a new phone. You can also do this by going to one of the stores. I suggest doing both because a store may have phones that are not available online and vice versa.

From Cingular this is upgrading means..

If you have 2 yrs contract, I you have completed a a year, Your eligible for an upgrade. Means you can get discount on their phones! Not free but discounts.. like for instance the phone retails $200 they will give it to you for $100. Not free!! There is no such thing as free phone for upgrades.

Also your gonna have to extend your contract for another 2yrs..

Upgrading is not good!

I suggest you to just wait till the end of your contract then move to another company. You will get a good deal with free phones plus cash..

Sounds good right?

Good Luck!!
