I work for a "Temp agency". My paycheck comes from agency through mail. They know because I called and told them. Now what should I do?

First you need to visit the person who issues the actual checks. Was a check made out to you on the proper date? Was it sent out late? Did they make a mistake? If you act nicely and are considerate, someone may find the mistake and give you a check on the spot.

If you hire a lwayer now, this temp agency will never hire you again; others may find out, too. Only go to a lawyer when a manager tells you he will not pay you. Keep pushing until you get that.

You can also get help from the Better Business Bureau, the local chamber of commerce and the department of labor. The BBB doesn't help much, but they will take note of any abuse you can prove and may have advice. The DOL will put the hammer down, but you need certified proof and documentation of the abuse.

Can't you go down TO the agency and file a complaint that your check didn't come? Perhaps something happened with the mailing out of checks or they're waiting for everyone to turn in their hours? Call again and find out what happened...if that doesn't work go down there and complain. OR... go to the office you did the temp work at and find out why THEY didn't pay? Usually who ever you worked for pays the temp agencies and they're the ones that turn around and pay you. You probably most likely need to go to the office you worked at first.
Good luck
