AGP is an older technology , its supported speed is 2x,4x,8X, while PCIe supports 16x,
You cant' put card supporting one bus into another,
If your motherboard is relatviely new ,chances are that it does have an agp based variant too. In that case u can change your motherboard easily without changing rest of the components. but if not , then changing mother board will result in chaning processor alteast
PCIe based cards, relatively faster and improved ,some cards have both AGP and PCIe variants, while latest cards are only available in PCIe

They are different. The PCI Express standard is the latest for graphics card, so it's better than AGP. Since some of the latest graphics card still supports AGP, it's probably better to buy an AGP card. If you want to upgrade your motherboard, your CPU and RAM may have to be upgraded too, costing much more.

They are most assuredly different. You need to evaluate how YOU plan on using the computer to decide which is the best alternative for you. A high end AGP card should work just fine for the majority of common applications.

They are different and you will indeed have to either get an AGP video card or upgrade the motherboard.
I would recommend a different video card because a motherboard upgrade will most likely mean you will have to purchase a new processor, new ram, etc.
Depending on how much you want to pay, those are your options.

PCI-e is double the speed of AGP. And no, you can't use a PCI-e in a AGP slot. Upgade your MOBO.

It's a pity my friend. They are different and you can't use it with your actual motherboard. You should verify this before buying. Unfortunately you get already the wrong card.

I upgraded and I debated if I should go for PCI-E or not but I took the gamble and it's much better in my opinion!
