WHILE DIVING :
it happened to me while diving because some drops falling down from my sinuses irritated my nose.....forcing me to sneeze.
I just held my mask loose in the moment I bl owed air from the nose and in the regulator,to avoid this " temporary overpressure" to come back in my lungs...
In some cases, sneezing while diving, can be dangerous for some person that are predisposed to the opening of "foramen ovale" in their hearth. This can create an opening between the hearth valves, mixing venous blood to arterial blood......
The consequences can be lethal.

By the way, don't worry untill you will not know to be predisposed to this kind of hearth malformation.
A lot of people are not aware of this thing.I'm just informing , with no intentions to scare somebody.

I assume that you can sneeze while snorkeling too.
I don't know if this can happen while swimming without the mask

As a good suggestion for everyone going to do diving-snorkeling activities is to do a course before and a visit to a specialist in U.W.medicine

N.M.

I've sneezed underwater... It's the same thing that happens when you sneeve above water....

As long as you do your pre-sneeze ritual above water, it is possible. I've had it happen a couple of times at pools. It also happened once while I was scuba diving, for some odd reason. But yes, it's possible.

hi!
if someone sneezed underwater, then youd see bubbles--its just like if someone sneezed on land--and if snot came out, snot would come out underwater

If you didn't have some kind of air supply then you'd drown. Considering most everyone inhales before they sneeze.

well take in consideration that when one sneezes they take a breath of air back in, so if one is under water then they would drown or choke on water intake of the lungs.
