han shot first because greedo pulled a gun on him, so naturally han would shoot first.
a human corellian male vs a male rodian. the human wins because of ingenuity and unpredictability.
the shot came from solos gun from under the table. after that everybody turned to see what happened.

As far as I've ever been able to tell Han actually shot first, never really giving Greedo the chance to take the shot he could have, but why give him the chance. Greedo was garbage Han knows he's toast unless he does it,a true example of the quick and the dead,if Greedo just shut his mouth and took his shot Han would've been gone right there. Han simply took matters into his own hands and made it end the way he wanted. And any effort to change it by Lucas is silly,Han is still a stand up guy regardless whether he shot first or not,you can't be bad for killing garbage.

Greedo did have the blaster trained on Han, but Han shot him first...you can watch it frame by frame as proof
At least Han apologized for the mess!

It was Han
not "Hans"
1977 original I saw it 26 times
the editted version from 1997 had a clumsy special effect showing Greedo shooting first.
the newest DVD jsut released has the original version in it.
Han shot First...wouldn't you?

Having grown up with the Original Trilogy, I can rest comfortably knowing that Han did in fact shoot first. I thought it was a rather cheap when they took that away from him in the special editions. Not to mention tacky. Seriously. Han was a scoundrel to begin with.

Han!!!!!
George Lucas has not only lost all his talent he is a coward for trying to change his movie to bow to left wing pressure.
Han Solo is a scoundrel who shoots first, not pus sy who survives because his opponent misses a stationary target and point blank range.

In the Original, Un-recut version, you can clearly see that Han shot first.
And now that the DVD's are out, you can go frame by frame and prove it.

It doesn't matter who shot first, Han's shot was the only one that hit.
