If it didn't work in palestine why are people convinced its going to work here?

I used to think as you do because it's logical. But so many wars involve insurrections and guerilla tactics where small arms play an important role.

You really think your average solider is going to be willing to fire missles or tank shells at US citizens? Get real. Guns serve as an important check against the power of the state, but realistically if there ever was a military coup that tried to impose permanent martial law or take away basic freedoms, a large number of soliders would defect.

It's not the tanks there trying to stop. They now from history that all an insurgency needs to do is survive and keep making a nuisance of itself and with 800-900 attacks a day in iraq they are definitely surviving. The theory is that by forcing us to field our very expensive army we will eventually go broke or just get tired of an opponent that won't go down. and they are dead on right.

I'm not sure where here is. Or what guns youa re talking about.
The only gun I know that will stop a missile is aboard Navy ships it's called a CIWS.
And no gun that won't penetrate armor will stop a tank.

What are you talking about? We also have tanks and missiles and planes and battleships and submarines and the will to survive angaint terror from inside and outside this country. And some guns will pierce tank armor.

The people in Louisiana don't use tanks and airplanes for home invasion. Shotguns and handguns work very well against rapists and burglars.

I've never been robbed or mugged by anyone with a tank or missle. My Glock works just fine.
