I think I have to go with Darth Vader,in fact I'm pretty sure I saw a professionally done poll on this very concept that also had Darth coming out on top,and I mean hands down winner. I just think that he appeals to too many people not to be remembered, not just the evil but the struggle inside that he represents and so he sticks in peoples mind. And of course when it comes to bad guys he is absolutely the most recognized character ever, how many people in the world could automatically recognize the very first sight of Darth walking into Princess Leia's ship in episode IV it is the first sight of Darth and even knowing nothing of the movie going in you could see it for the first time and know that this is the man to watch, that everything revolves around him and rightfully so. All roads in Star Wars either begin or end with Darth.
