As an architect, I can tell you exactly why this is. The fact of the matter is that all the famous architects to this point were schooled in a time before true gender equality. All the greats of today like Liebeskind and Gehry are old men over 60, which puts them in a School of Archtiecture back in the 60s and 70s at the very least (which is still the infancy of the women's equality movement).

Personally, I attended in the mid-90s and more than half the class was female so I foresee females growing into the realm of the greats as they start to achieve their heights in their latter years themselves. Give it time for these talents to find their way to greatness because forcing it will make them less great.
