my dear, i think it may be due to lack of love towards others. that is why i always feel that if i can be a little loving towards ppl who are mean and nasty, somehow this may trigger him to wonder maybe he can be a nice person after all.

Insecurity.
When a person is insecure they inevitably have low self-esteem. This person usually will go to just about any lengths to make themselves feel better about who they are.
Someone try a make-over, other will do volunteer work, but unfortunately humans being lazy creatures will tend to prey on the vulnerable. By putting someone down or manipulating them to get what they what they get a sense of accomplishment. However that sense of accomplishment is fleeting. so they repeat their behaviour over and over again.
It's sad I know but until those people realize that being human is a lot of hard work then meanness will always exist. You can apply this thinking to all levels of human interaction, personal, professional, national and international. Why do you think wars are waged.
All this being said. Find your self-confidence and navigating through the meanness of the world becomes a lot easier.

I don't think people are mean. It's just the way this world has become. People don't know how to communicate with one another anymore because there's email and text messaging so it's taken away a lot of things I think... I could be wrong and I always say is your life is unhappy it's becasue you are unhappy also.

People who are mean lack balance. Their life is not balanced enough with good emotions and feelings to counteract the bad ones. But most of all they lack love. This is key to balancing life. You can have many things in life, but without love it's doesn't carry much.

Because they have a problem with themselves! They have to make others feel so bad to make themselves feel so good.
Treat every person like this with an extra helping of kindness and it will eventually rub off on them.
Never lower yourself to their level and know that you are trying the best you can to be kind to everyone!

They are unhappy, and they feel the need to make others unhappy since that's the way they feel. Anyone who is truly happy in this life is not a mean person.

Not every one is Join a youth group and hopefully in Gods house you will find loving people. People who dont love you for what you do but for who you are.

people r mean because if they do not do so then the world wont let them to live. its the world or situation makes them mean they r not mean by themselves
