God, I wish I knew the answer to that one myself. Let me know if you find it.

I'm going through that right now. I've been married for almost three years and I love him with all my heart, but I know that right now we are just at two different places in our lives. I feel that it's so hard to let go because over time we have gotten comfortable and used to having this person in our lives even though our bad days far out weigh our good ones. At times we let the love we have for that person become more important than our own feelings. It's like you are ready to call it quits but then you get to thinking about their feelings. The last thing you want to do is to cause them any pain. Even though we probably know already that it wouldn't affect them in any way, shape, form, or fashion. We've programed ourselves long ago to be the strong one and to protect them from harm. But all you are doing is harming yourself and you need to pray for the strength to let it go before you end up miserable and there won't even be a friendship left.

rejection plays a big part of not letting go. If you were to have left them, it wouldn't hurt, but them leaving you, hurts. There will come a time in your life when you will realize it was the right thing, wasn't meant to be, because their replacement is a gazillion times better!

Time will heal you, I know, I have been there. It may even take awhile, but the Lord will give you much better, He has a plan for your life. This has happened to you for a reason; there is no such thing as fate or coincidence.......please believe me in this. I have been thru it all, experience has taught me, I won't die from a divorce, I won't die from heartbreak, time does heal, life changes, things get better, life becomes easier, life gives us bad, life gives us good.

There is nothing new under the sun. We all have to experience bad in life, but we will experience good, also. We have to go thru tribulations and trials in order to strengthen us, and make our character grow.

Well, unfortunately, love is stronger than anything. Also if you have alot of pride it can be an ego thing; like I'm a really great person, why the hell can't they see this? It's also a game of cat & mouse, the more they pull away, the more you chase.

Maybe they do have your heart in mind. Did you do something wrong to this person? Healthy relationships end healthy. It sounds like they may be hurt.

because it's a lot harder to let the fantasy of the relationship or what could have been in your mind go as oppossed to the reality of how the relationship really is/was.
