I'd boil it 1st for about 10 minutes. Remove leaves, and soft portitions of the cane. Remove it after a years or so when it starts to break down.

Yes you can. So far there exists no evidence that cane releases harmful agents into water.

I have heard yes and no. Some people say that it will rot in the tank and others say they have had no problem with it.

u can put anyting in the fish tank if it's solid
