Christina Augulera (or however you spell it) half naked, Britney Spears snogging Madonna, Lilly Allen swearing etc...... In my era (80s), all we had was squeaky clean Debbie Gibson and Tiffany!!! Have things got better or worse for teenagers these days? Who else do you remember from the 80s that you liked?!

I think we live in a less buble wrapped world but in some ways its better and others its worse because kids look up to and act like these people.

I remember Metallica from the 80's and that is still thier best stuff

I think teens and tweens are all exposed to way more than kids were back in the 80's. Of course, the 80's were worse than the 60', and so forth... but for the most part, I think that music and the music industry has totally trashed any values that should be important (like family, loyalty, honesty, monogymy, etc....). There has always been an aura of sex, drugs, and money around rock and roll, but that seems to have gotten even more out of hand than ever.

Madonna is still around from the 80's but she is still as trashy as ever (i.e. her mock crucifixion during her live performances), but I used to love her when she did Papa Don't Preach, True Blue, La Isla Bonita. Other people I loved were Michael Jackson (gasp!), Whitney Houston, Journey, and REO Speedwagon. And you could count on them to put out tons of great stuff on every album. Of course, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston could no longer be considered "squeaky clean," could they? :-)

Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then!

Sheena Easton was pretty provocative back in the 80's toward the latter part. But she put out some good stuff!
Alls I can say about the music today is...Sex Sells...and the musical content is second to selling todays music. There's no more originality to the music, they've sampled or taken grooves from the 70's & 80's, and are selling it as new music.

I was born in '90, and I love growing up in these days, rather than the 80's because the bands al sounded the same and now You have more variety when it comes to music.

in my day(Today) i don't listen to and/or watch the rubbish that is mainstream pop!! i much prefer todays alternatve rock, indie, emo, whatever.... but i love the old bands too!!! 80s and 90s, hell sometimes even the 70s!! but not todays music vidoes, these girls have no feeling of self-respect or self-control, basically they are all sluts!! o how i would have loved to be my age in the late 80s/early 90s..

I think its all relative. In the 60's The Beatles, Stones, Doors, Who were going to be the ruination of society.
