Was Elvis the original singer? Who else sang it? What's the best version?

I don't think so, Angel. The version I refer to has the lyrics, "...why torture me.."

Well, I know Elvis recorded it, and I still haven't found the date yet...but by far, the one who had the biggest hit with it, was Terry Stafford in '64.

Elvis recorded Suspicion in '62 on the album "Pot Luck"...it didn't become a commercial hit until '77 in the UK.

Are you talking about Suspicious Minds? Yes, Elvis was the original singer. In my opinion Elvis was the best version. But here are some others that sang it: Bush, Fine Young Canibals, Gemini, Dwight Yoakam, Pete Yorn, Gareth Gates

SmokeEater scores again...and he's right.
If you want a copy of "Suspicion" by Terry or Elvis, let me know, I have both.
