Well although you could say I have a desk job, and I could sit on my butt all day until closing time, I do indeed work my butt off!
It's so crazy; I have a 3 to 5 person work load, and they won't hire me an assistant! Worst yet, my boss is constantly asking me what I do, as if I wasn't busy enough doing too many things at once! He should be on PsychoMotorMouth's back; she talks on the phone and bids on ebay all day...
It's Bizarro world!
Cheers

Sitting all day is not mutually exclusive with working off your tail. I have a lot of spare time now but I've mostly had desk jobs and I can honestly say you can be stuck at a desk 9 hours a day and still work off your tail.

Both actually. Depends on how the day starts off. Like today there was a 6 point earthquake at about 9am so the rest of the day I'm doing nothing really. Unless something requires my attention then it's back to work.

I sit all day and work my butt off at the same time. I wish I could move around more. The most movement I get during the day is to the copier, printer and to get something to drink or eat. That is even starting to slow down with the paperless environment my office is changing to.

I used to...and had to do the work of three people...it's why I left. No money, no appreciation, just more and more work! I worked 25 years for the federal government. Govt workers are all stressed out on every level from town halls, courts, county, and state and even we wonder where all the money goes...never into our pockets. New programs are passed but no money appropriated to hire the help to do the work and so they just pass on the work to existing workers. They are all counting the days to when they can get out...if they survive the stress of it all.

I have both it just depends on what day it is. Most of the time I am busting my butt. It sucks, but I couldn't have a desk job. I would go nuts.
