i had never heard that, but if he was, and he did not like blacks he would be tossing in his grave at graceland. i was there in april and there was not one white employee either at the tour headquarters and souvenir shops across the street or at the mansion itself...100% black employees. All very gracious and helpful.. in fact the entire neighborhood surrounding Graceland is i would say 100% black. the only white people you see are the tourists...we stayed at the Days Inn motel, across the street from the mansion, the entire staff was black, we went to a walmart down the street and we stood out like a couple of marshmallows, but i never felt uncomfortable or intimidated, we went to a laundromat to do our laundry and had a very pleasant conversation with a couple of other customers... but like i said earlier i had never heard Elvis was racist...hope he wasn't...

Because he absolutely was. Do a search on the Internet, you will find out for yourself. As a matter of fact, when his daughter married Michael Jackson, some of his relatives were on a talk show discussing it (saying he did not like black people), they said that he would roll over in his grave if he knew it. Could have been Oprah Winfrey, can't remember. Saw it with my own eyes, and heard it with my own ears.

I have never heard that charge. The rock 'n roll he did was very strongly influenced by Black Gospel music so its hard to see how he could have been racist, but maybe so. I'd be sad if that were true.

How can anyone say this when Elvis incorporated soul and black music into his own music, getting inspriation from them? He flattered races, not being a rascist

Our Dear Elvis the Pop Singer is not with us now.
