That's what I've been told... so how do you know if any of the ashes you get are REALLY that of your loved one!

No, that is not true. Reputable crematories cremate one body at a time and vacuum the retort after to make sure all of the cremated remains are together to be returned to the family. Hope this helps.

I actaully walked my father (his remains) up to the creamtorium, and was able to see exactly what happens. It only is big enough for one person's remains. Your person's remains go in, and that's exactly what comes out. Places are inspected, and there are laws to help insure proper proceedure.
However, you may have heard this regarding animal creamations, and some places that do animal cremations do use a system where the pets are placed on a numbered grid, so that several may be done at once. Each grid number identifies the remains, and those ashes do not mix with other grid areas. But these places also have a reputation to uphold, and generaly are known to be careful.
You never really 'know' in your heart, and everyone allways wonders, but I suspect the ashes are who they say they are...

If it is done properly you should only have your loved one's ashes.
