But I would love to sing. Not on stage but just have a nice singing voice. If I take voice/singing lessons would I be able to coached and trained how to sing?

I belive that is possible. If you want to sing i would take the chance and take singing lessons.

depending on how old you are you could turn an off key voice into a decent singing voice. The older you get the more your unlikely to change your voice. But if you are younger you can "teach" your muscles to sing, breathe etc...

I've seen people who claim they can teach *anyone* to sing like professionals, so you could possibly improve a lot with vocal training.

I think so, your voice is like an instrument and you can be trained to use it.
