I think they have a Tony Romas in the Stardust. I am not wild about Tony Romas, but lots of people love it and it is a rib restaurant... Probably pretty reasonable too...

Celebrating its’ 1st year anniversary at Santa Fe Station, “Memphis,” with its’ award-winning Southern-style barbecue, has gained loyal followers in the Northwest areas of the Valley. Mike Mills, owner and founder, is a four-time World Champion, and the only three-time World Grand Champion, at the Annual Memphis in May cook-off, in Tennessee, where he continues to judge competitions. The annual cook-off is considered the “Super Bowl of Barbecue.” Affectionately known as “The Legend,” Mills has received hundreds of other awards, including National Grand Slam & Grand Champion, Grand Champion Sauce, and Grand Sauce in various states across the nation.

What is the secret to great and successful barbecue, I asked? Mills responded, “it’s old fashion low and slow method of cooking, the finest meats, and freshest ingredients.” “Meats are smoked over low heat in wood-burning pits for hours and hours, achieving superb flavors and tenderness…and we don’t use any MSG, tenderizers, or preservatives,” he continued.

“Memphis” also attributes their success to the use of apple wood in their smokers for that consistent sweet smoky aroma and flavor, a 100-year old tradition using secret recipe for “magic dust,” a dry rub of 18 different spices that evolved from an old family recipe, and award-wining vinegar sauce developed by his maternal grandmother, Mama Landess. And as a tribute to his mother, Mama Faye, Mills features Mama Faye’s Down Home Supper, a dinner for four consisting of a rack of St. Louis ribs or baby back ribs, pork, beef brisket, hot links, whole chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, French fries, cream corn and rolls. What a way to enjoy the best of southern-style barbecue!

Memphis has been known for the best barbecue for over the past seven years in Las Vegas. In fact former President Bill Clinton favored Mills barbecue so much that during his Las Vegas visits, the Prez would call Mike, giving him the distinction of having had “top security clearance” to board Air Force One and deliver those savory dishes. Talk about delivery service!

Having reached its’ 1st year anniversary at the Santa Fe Station “Memphis” has gained the reputation as the place for other food, as well as barbecue. Memphis is famously known for its’ award-winning barbecue, but is also a full service casual restaurant serving other entrees. The 14-oz hand cut blackened Rib eye steak prepared with a special blend of spices rival those of many steak houses in Las Vegas. And for that rich robust flavor the 16 oz New York Steak does not take second place in its’ category; or those thick center cut Pork Chops seasoned and grilled to perfection. Don’t miss the perfect beginning to your meal by ordering a fresh Spinach or Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad. Appetizers that tempt the palate include savory Onion Straws battered and sprinkled with “magic dust” served with special sauces, and the special Southern Fried Dill Pickles. For vegetarians or those who prefer seafood, Memphis has that covered as well, including Fettuccine Alfredo, Charbroiled Shrimp, and Southern Fried Catfish.

Memphis at the Santa Fe Station is a family style restaurant, but also has a separate full service lounge bar serving 20 oz draft beer, and 60 oz pitchers. The bar is a perfect place to enjoy Monday Night football, and on Friday and Saturday nights you can enjoy live bands with music ranging from blues, to light rock, including jazz, and contemporary sounds. A full menu is also available all day long in the bar area, and until 1:00 A.M. on weekends. “Memphis” with its’ friendly and casual setting to meet friends, kick back, and enjoy the best in food and entertainment, should be a regular on your dining-out list.

You can’t beat the convenient location inside the entrance to the property, just steps away from outdoor, garage, or valet parking…no need to walk hundreds of yards through the casino, as one might expect. Although hotel guests or casino players find it readily available, this is a destination restaurant, where customers come from miles around specifically to savor and enjoy all that Memphis has to offer. In fact the restaurant touts fast service for lunch, in and out in a short time, serving lunch specials between 11:00am - 4:00pm.

Catering is also available for groups in a private dining room, as well as off premise, including office parties and group parties at home. Three off-premise service options are offered: Full Service; Deliver and Set-up; or Delivery Only. Take the fuss and bother out of cooking.

Founder/owner Mike Mills, Partner/Director of Operations Carlos Silva, and General Manager Bob Striegel adhere to the old principles of customer satisfaction. If you haven’t tried Memphis you haven’t tried “Championship” barbecue. Remember it’s all about food, family, friends, and tradition. Savor the recipes of the Champion! Call 702-396-6223. Other locations at 4379 Las Vegas
Blvd. (at Craig) and 2250 E. Warm Springs.
