Is there an envronmentally friendly and acceptable way to dispose of used magnetic tape?

I have 1/2, 1/4 and 3/4 inch tapes on reels, 1/4 inch cassettes and
VHS cassettes -- music and video no longer needed. Please help as I am moving and these will be destined to the dump.

Send it to me! I knit with it. (Plus I've been trying to find reels--I picked up and old reel-to-reel a while back and haven't gotten to mess with it at all.)
