ZoneAlarm Pro is pretty good, not too much either. I've had no problems with it.

My husband's used ZoneAlarm Pro for 2 years and reckons it's the best. I have the free ZoneAlarm firewall and AVG Free for antivirus - both a million times better than Norton which ground my computer to a standstill.

ZoneAlarm free used to be great...
But now Zone Alarm Pro is tons better...
If you need a package that has EVERYTHING built into it, then Zone Alarm is the way to go.

Me personally I currently use Outpost Firewall Pro because I like some of the advanced features in it that are easy for ME to use, but I am a System Administrator and very well versed in networks and protocols and stuff like that, so it's easy for me to set up very advanced things.

Another very good one out there is from Comodo - they have a Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam and a replacement for Gator as well. And it is all free. This is worth taking a look at too.

I have ZoneAlarm Security Suite takes care of everything, even scans my emails for junk before opening, so now i get no junk mail which is great, also you can set it up to scan at certain times of the day. Has so much to offer this program

It came out No 1 in a Which? magazine report about 6 months ago and on the strength of that I bought it. It seems to do a pretty good job. No problems with it at all and I run it on 3 different operating systems. I think it is a reasonably heavy user of CPU though and slows things down a little.

Agree with crossbie, Norton software is utter garbage.

Zone Alarm offers a GREAT software firewall, fast updates, even gaming mode (In case your a gamer like me, pretty much it leaves you alone alert wise.) Go ZONEALARM!

I had problems with ZA with antivirus and ended up uninstalling, I switched to another company. I'd had no problems with the free version! But its not suitable of you have pc's that are networked, you need Pro.
It seemed to work ok. The updates were regular. It was free - what more can you ask for?!?
