Can you solve this riddle please?

Question

A hobo discovers that, for every 4 cigarette butts he collects and strips down, he can make 1 cigarette. If he collects 16 butts, how many cigarettes can he make?

the answer is 5.

he makes 4 cigarettes from the 16 butts and then using the 4 butts of these 4 cigarettes , he makes the 5th one.

assuming that this is a real riddle , my answer is the correct one and if anyone copies my answer , i hope you vote for mine as best answer ;)

Since I believe this to be a trick question I will answer this way. ,,,

You can't make cigarettes out of butts. Therfore 0 would be the answer..had the question been ' he found 16 cigarette butts'' the answer would be 4.. :-)

so five and a quarter, if you want to get into floating points.

1 cigg = 1 butt
16 butts = 4 ciggs
4 ciggs = 4 butts
4 butts = 1 cigg

Total ciggs = 5

If you want to continue: 5 ciggs will yeild 5 butts and that will make more ciggs and more butts.......... So if he starts selling them... he will become a tycoon.
