My husband and I were talking about names for our future children the other day and I think Joey would be a cute name for a girl, he thinks its dumb, what do you think? Tell me the honest truth, I dont care if you're brutally honest. I was also thinking it could be spelled, Joie.

I have to admit I think it's pretty cute. IMHO it would have to be short for Josephine/Joanne/Joanna though.

Hmmm... I think if you could get him to say ok to a name with joey or joie for short it would be fine. An old name I know but there is Josephine. Or Joelyn. Or Goselyn with a J for Joselyn. Be creative every day I hear of different names. And yes Joey or Joie is a cute name for a girl. To me its more girlie than boy.

Short for Josephine. I love it.
Joie means Joy in french and is not pronounced "joey".....it is pronounced Zhwah.

I wouldn't confuse the public by spelling a simple nickname like a french word. Your daughter will get so frustrated daily because nobody knows how to spell her name when they read it.

Why make her change her name legally when she is 18? Just spell it right to begin with.

Joey really is a boys name.I know their are names that r boys & girls, but do not think this is one of them.Maybe you could use it as a middle name. That may work out better.Remember you do not want her to be teased.Kids really can be brutal.
