I dont like that I have to use a trader or a firm to buy stocks. Isnt there a place I can just go, give them money and I get stocks. I dont need someone to "manage" my money - I dont want to pay that extra money. I just want some stock - very simple.

help?

You can look up "direct purchase plans" in the search engine. It will give you numerous companies to which you can buy directly from them. This is how I obtained all my stock !!

I could write a list of them here but I don't have all day...there are thousands of companies that offer it.

Check out a company that interest you, on line, click on "investor relations". If you cannot find where it says "direct purchase" than that company does not offer it.

Good Luck !! Managing your OWN money is a step up !!!

yes,
you just need to open a brokerage account, you can do all the trading you want and not pay anything to the broker except a commision, and there are plenty out there w/ very cheap commissions. I use www.interactivebrokers.com , they have the lowest commissions right now. although there are several others.
you can also check w/ your bank, most banks will offer you a brokerage account, which might be a good idea if your not an active trader or investor.

Yes, the New York Stock exchange, but I think it costs a million or more to get a seat on it.

I use Scottrade though, it is $7 per trade.

Nobody buys stocks with actual money (Paper bills and coins)

If that was possble Osama Bin Laden would buy Level 3 Communications (NASDAQ: LVLT)

If you want to buy stocks on your own you can contact the Investor Relations Department of the Public Company you want to buy and they can directly sell you their stock.
