This is very, very hard to answer. Its a great challenge to really get inside your own head, and answer this fully.....
You can break it into a few smaller questions.
1.) Am I working in the job or career path I want? If so, and I moving fast enough. Am I just making time?
2.) Do I have truly good friends? Do I have a good mate? If you
have a FAMILY, is it the type you thought you'd have when you were younger? Do you feel suffocated, or are you thrilled, or somewhere in bewteen?
3.)Am I broadening my mind, or have I been brain-dead since graduation(high-school,college, etc.). Do I read, am I learning
new things, broadening my prespectives, travelling to new places,
or just to the corner bar or store?
4.) Do I waste time imbibing mass media garbage, like the mildless new latest movie, DVD release, or brain-dead TV show?
Or can I go to more live theater, have more real conversations
with more interesting people, travel more, see more museums?
Do you REALLY know yourself?HMM?

BTW, don't feel bad if you fall into the "walking dead" catagory, composed
of being sleep walking their way thorough life, taking alcohol or drugs to dull the pain of anothing, brain-rot existence, with unappreciative mates and kids who make your life a living hell.......

Let's face it, most of us have a BRAIN-ROT
existence.......from 22 on, the brain slowly rots from an unquestioning life doing what one is told, when one is told.....not adding any personal spin on a life spent wanting what one is told to want......and you wonder why 80% of people are either drunks, high on drugs, or addicted to jogging(a drug same as the others).

What sucks is to have a great all those things, and to have to get old and die anyway......life is really so Shakespearean,
in that every life is its own Tragedy, in it's own little way.......The hell of living in old age after your mate passes on, the personal hurts and pain that we all feel
sometimes make us feel like being in a mortal coil is simply a trail of tears...
Do you think ive been listening to too much
Pink Floyd lately? Or is it the methadone?
The world will never know.....

Great question, Mr. Johnson! I gave it a thumbs up rating.
1.) Yes. I am right where I planned to be at this time as far as my career is concerned.
2.) The friends that remain are great people and very supportive; I weeded out the bad apples. Right now, I'm just "playing the field", so I don't have a good mate as of now... however, I am enjoying the single life. Family life has been rocky, which is one of the reasons I decided to move on with my life last year.
3.) I can honestly say that I am expanding my intellectual horizons. I seldom studied when I was in school, but still managed to get good grades. I have read more since graduating from college than I ever read DURING college. I have also traveled extensively and hope to return to Moscow, Odessa and elsewhere in Eastern Europe in the near future.
4.) I feel that there is nothing wrong with indulging in what you call "mass media garbage" so long as a balance is struck... similar to how your consumption of "junk food" should be limited. I appreciate everything that tickles my fancy, be it fine arts or cheap, lowbrow entertainment.

Technically, I have no career path. Would education count? I would much rather be caught up in medicine.
2.) Do I have truly good friends? Do I have a good mate? If you

I feel quite content with my family. Some are aggravating at times, some don't like the same things I do, but they do set goals and expect me to make them. When I don't, it's alright; I'll try harder next time.
3.)Am I broadening my mind, or have I been brain-dead since graduation(high-school,college... etc.). Do I read, am I learning
new things, broadening my prespectives, travelling to new places,

I am broadening my mind with music and trivia. The more I stuff in today, the bigger my mind will be tomorrow. My learning goes beyond the classroom. Also, stuffing my mind with facts about Pink Floyd allows me to pull a report out of my behind and slap it down with no looking up anything!
4.) Do I waste time imbibing mass media garbage, like the mildless new latest movie, DVD release, or brain-dead TV show?
Or can I go to more live theater, have more real conversations

I love to travel and see new things! As for theatre... I don't watch it, I perform it! I love music and choir.

Well, it took me awhile to get to where I am now, which is where I want to me. I am working toward a career that I want just as fast as I can. NOTHING in my life has turned out the way I planned, and so far, that's great! I am not suffering from brain rot, I love to learn, I listen to alternative news radio, read tons of books about different subjects so I can learn new things and try to surround myself with positive people who like to learn new things too.
I dont' watch TV (once in awhile I watch Law & Order), take care of my family, work, go to school and enjoy my relationships with people. I have real friends who have been available for me and I do the same for them.
I went thru my Pink Floyd phase a long time ago, they really arent my favorites, but interesting lyrics.
This was also an interesting question, made me realize I DO know myself! Thanks for the question!

Ok now ...whats the point?
Holy Cow!!! What a bummer!!! Just because you feel like a failure, don't bring the rest of us down. I like my life. I have a great husband, wonderful family, a high IQ, and a job that I love so much that I would do it for free. Get a life why don't ya?
PInk Floyd, though a great band, isn't a good role model on how to live life.
