Not sure what your question is? If you're asking opinons/experience, here's mine.

It doesn't pay worth a flip. My husband is an assistant manager (aka upper-level salesman) at an electronics store. His take-home for this month was about 1000. He works over 50 hours most weeks. Oh, and he got more than anyone else at the store exept his boss, who gets a larger "manager's bonus". The "benefits" are a joke. For both of us to have health insurance, it would cost more than he makes in a month. The dental insurance alone is over 100 a month.

I am on disability, which doesn't pay all that well either, and have continued to work as and when I can part time, from home, to the limit that disability allows, so I'm not just mooching off him. (I know what some of you out there were about to say!).

There is a positive side, however: In a larger city (more customers) or a smaller one (less competition) it would be a better financial situation. He enjoys the contact with people of all sorts, and loves talking to people. He gets to see a wide range of people every day and enjoys that a lot. He's met some really neat people.

Good luck!
