It depends. The highest "legal system" in any given state is that state's supreme court, and that deals with state law issues. For federal law and United States Constitutational law issues, the U.S. Supreme Court is the top.

There are two parallel "systems." The Federal & the "state" systems (of which there are 50). The only court that can hear appeals from any Federal court and from any State Supreme Court is the US Supreme Court. So it has the "highest" authority.

The Highest court is the US Supreme Court.....the highest legal system?? the same..... I guess!

There is the military legal system and then there is a martial law in case of extreme emergancies!

However the US Supreme court has absolute legalese in all of these matters as well. It is where all matters including state are argued!

The highest legal authority in the US is the constitution. The Judicial branch of the US government is responsible for enforcing these laws. The US Supreme court is the final authority on any legal issue (should they decide to hear the arguments for a case).

The highest court is the Supreme Court of the United States, which currently consists of nine justices. The court deals with matters pertaining to the Federal Government, disputes between states, and interpretation of the United States Constitution, and can declare legislation or executive action made at any level of the government as unconstitutional, nullifying the law and creating precedent for future law and decisions. Below the Supreme Court are the courts of appeals, and below them in turn are the district courts, which are the general trial courts for federal law.
