Totally appropriate...especially for a formal occasion like a wedding or renewal of vows.

Yes as long as she wears the kind that is made for open toed shoes. THey make a certain pantyhose without the seam around the toes. Check your local walmart or Target. Dress sounds pretty, btw!

I personally can't stand to wear dress shoes without some kind of hose. You don't get blisters as easily and they help keep your legs/feet warmer if it's cold out.
I'd not see why it wasn't "fashionably" appropriate if she got the ones with no seems showing so you couldn't tell she was wearing them.
If she really wants/needs to wear hose (my SIL has to wear for medical reasons) she should talk to your aunt and see what can be arranged for her.

Pantyhose with sheer toes or toeless ARE appropriate to wear. Don't listen to the Yahoo Answers fashion critics with an IQ just above "Trailer Trash" and who get their fashion tips from watching re-runs from "Sex And The City".

Fashion schmashion. Hosiery adds even tone and color while adding wonderful support and comfort. What shoes you wear with them is of no consequence. People that worry too much about 'fashion' are wasting their time. It's our lives, our bodies, our decision on what to wear. I for one refuse to be a follower. I wear what I like to wear. If that means pantyhose with strappy open toe shoes, then that's what I am going to wear. At least my legs look better than the 'fashionista' with her (in my opinion) unfinished ugly bare legs. Don't even get me started on the dime store flip flops that are supposedly 'in.'
It's time women started taking pride in the way they looked - dressing up instead of down. Hosiery adds a finished, dressed up, and SEXY look to any outfit. Don't be like 'them' - be like YOU.

I would say that pantyhose with open toed shoes is a bit tacky (seam or no seam showing). If you feel you legs are too pale to be exposed, try a self tanner instead of the flesh colored nylons.

I personally wouldnt do it. I only wear pantyhose when its a close to shoe and if they go with what i am wearing. Plus it covers your toes and its nice to get complements on nicely pedicured feet.
If your mom feels comfortable i dont see why not, but fashionably its a no no.

It's not appropriate to wear regular pantyhose with open toe shoes but thank god! now they make open-toe pantyhoses. So buy a few and wear your open toe shoes with them appropriately :)

Take alongside a pair of tennis footwear or slippers to placed on for those longer drives and slip your heels back on earlier you get out of the vehicle. as long as you have solid high quality hose you shouldn't have any subject concerns with them bunching at your ankles. Oh, and varnish those nails to verify your gown or your footwear!

absolutely, additionally the bare legged fashion trend is fading away and hosiery, especially vintage hosiery is the new trend, however if the bride is requesting a specific fashion statement, I would discuss it with the bride to make sure she is on board, and you might express your mothers desire and for whatever reason makes sens,
A lot of women are more comfortable and feel better about thier legs in nylon, becuase it accentuates the beauty and shape of the legs
