Sociology is not considered a science because the expeimental results are not independently verifiable or reproducable.

Most sociological "facts" or theories are simply opinions backed by statistics. Sociology does not follow scientific methodology, and is therefore considered less reliable than true science.

Sociology is widely considered an attempt to organize and create legitimacy for a political viewpoint.

Marxism is an example of a school of sociolgy

The sociological field is itself divided between these sorts of political theorists and social scientists who incorporate biological, genetic and demographic information.

These socio-biologists are not considered true sociologists by their bretheren as they are often dismissed as subscribing to Freud's widely unpopular "biology is destiny" creedo.

Since there is little standardization among sociologists and since most aspects of sociology has more in common with political science than, say, chemistry, it is unlikely sociology will be considered a science any time soon.

Economics, which is related to the statistical side of sociology suffers the same lack of scientific respect, but at least enjoys a kind of practical acceptance due to the utility of its statistical observations and predictive abilities.

In time, greater detailed statistical analysis may alter the way sociological study is conducted. That coupled with greater computer capacity and sophisticated software may eventually allow a true scientific method to be incorporated in social sciences and socioly in particular.

Sociology is the study of humans and human behavior basically. Sociology differs from physics because physics is all about laws of the earth. Principles like gravity and trajectory. Biology, being the study of life on earth, is simply understanding life on the planet. While biology and sociology do cross in nature, sociology is a much more in depth look at the human experience. Emotions, Chemical creations, Natural growing processes and so on. It could be deemed obvious or unnecessary due to the fact that it's going on all around us at any given moment, and all one would have to do is simply turn their attention to it to realize sociology facts in real life experience.

Data that sociology operates on are not likely to be as concrete as data used by physics or biology. They require more interpretation.
