Depends upon your type of heater. If gas, the pilot light or the electric ignition system may have failed. If electric, you may have a blown circuit breaker. Check your breaker box to make sure there are no tripped breakers. Also, feel the sides of the heater. If it went out a short time ago it should still be warm if cold it went out hours ago. Also see if it has a reset button and press that to see if it cranks back up. If none of these work call your plumber. The whole heater may have just gone bad and needs replacing. Check for leaks around the heater to help confirm this too. Good luck.

Firstly I don't think you have a combi boiler (I apologise if wrong). Combis supply hot water on demand straight to a hot water tap without storing it in a hot water cylinder. The incoming cold water mains provides the flow as opposed to a pump. The pump is to circulate the hot water around the radiators. But no matter, you have a three way valve which reacts to the demands of a room stat and a cylinder stat. The fault is somewhere in the HW electrical circuit including the three way valve. You could check that the HW cylinder stat is clicking on and off. Apart from that it would be quicker and maybe cheaper in the long run to get a heating engineer to check it out. Plumbers are good at plumbing (usually) but not as competant as heating engineers as the latter have to know all about CH electrics. I would ask British Gas Services to fix it, and sign up for maintenance. All boilers break down, but BGS will attend 24/7.

If your water heater is gas, check the pilot light. If it is out, follow instuctions on the unit to relight.
If it is electric place your hands on it to check for warmth, listen to hear if it is "doing anything" it should make some noise. Could be that your heating element has over accumulated dissolved minerals from your water and has failed. Kind of a messy fix in that you have to drain all of the water to replace the element. Might be cheaper to just get a new one.

Check to see if the the pilot light is still lit. If it was windy last night it could have been blown out, it happen to me There should be directions on the water heater and it's very easy and safe.

Uh, my guess would be the hot water heater. To check, first, locate it. Feel it to see if it is warm. Check the electricity supply to it and make sure that is working. If not, check the fuse box. Hope this helps.

You need a heating eng, or a good lecky, sounds like it could be wired wrongly, sounds to me the hot water stat could be supplied from the heating off connection on the clock(instead of water on).It could be valve not correctly wired, faulty clock/stat.It will take someone competent to look at

Check the circuit breaker. You may have some elements shorted out if it is electric. If it is gas, the pilot light may have gone out over night.
