I like it a lot, its not too out there and its feminine without being too girly, Laura is a pretty feminine name and Jean is a mature "smart girl" name. I actually have thought of a similar name. What do think of the name Ella Jean?

Honestly, I like the names, but it makes me think of Little House on the Prairie. Her name was Laura Jean Ingalls (Wilder)

It's fine. My daughter is Sarah Jean although Jean is showed as part of her first name on her birth certificate. Nobody says the Jean part though. Jean was my grandmothers name.

I don't like it. Laura is nice but I don't like Jean at all.

Actually if you look it up it's Reese Witherspoon's name. Reese's full name is Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon.

I agree with the first answer - that's one of the least pretentious name suggestions I've seen on here. It's very nice :-)

Only people of 'a certain age' (that includes me!) would associate it with Little House on the Prairie.

That's my mother's first and middle name, so apparently my grandmother thought it fit.
