I have to write a process essay depicting the steps involved in preparing to participate in a sporting event. I chose a swim event that is swam by an Olympic swimmer. If anyone have any information on the training that is involved with this, like dieting, exercises, sleeping habbits, total number of meters swam during practice..exc. Thanks!

Well, olympic swimmers train every day probably up to three times a day. They don't have one day of break except maybe the day before or the day after a big event. They have to eat healthy foods (obviously) milk is a biggie. Eat on a schedule, so your body gets used to it. Medium sized breakfast, medium sized lunch, and a medium sized dinner. Exercises would be maybe in there first session (which would be at like 5:00 a.m.) they might work on their endurance, or they might weight train, or they might just have a big stretch session. Then they would go home eat breakfast, and maybe eat lunch, or they might have another training time before lunch. The would then work on something different. Maybe sprints, or endurance, or might focus on one stroke. Then the last session would be a lighter one for them, not qutie as hard. The middle one would be the hardest. They go to bed pretty early because they have to wake up early in the morning. And I'm not sure about habits or total number of meters. But they do swim in 50 meter pools. There's 4 strokes(freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, and butterfly) Butterfly is the most challenging. Freestyle is the fastest, butterfly second fastest, then back, then breast. Well Hope i helped!
