I do agree with them for the most part, but I think they need to be much stricter. A lady was in my CC class and could barely shoot the 38 Special she brought. It took her 10 minutes to get off 6 rounds (NOT KIDDING). You need to have the skills to use a firearm properly, and the intelligence to use it properly.

I personally feel more comfortable with the protection since I carry around about $3000 worth of camera equipment for my job. I also have a problem with a problematic spinal fusion surgery and I would not be able to fight back well. I feel that the carry laws allow law abiding citizens to have the ability to be on at least equal footing as the attacker(s).

I personally carry a Beretta 92FS with a Galco Middle-of-Back Inside Waistband holster. I use 147 grain hydro-shock hollow points.

Want to talk about crime prevention? Concealed carry is the ONLY crime prevention in this country. The police do NOTHING until a crime against a person has been committed. Oh sure there is the odd occasion when someone tries to hire a hit in a bar and the hit man is an undercover cop, but how many murders are prevented by the police.

In my state you have to show proficiency. I am not sure that this is valid in light of the first amendment, you see the constitution assumes you are personally responsible and obviously you have done the RIGHT thing in preparing yourself to carry. Despite how long it takes the lady to pass the test, she did and can carry, my wife took a long time but I would not want to be on the wrong end of her weapon today. Women are DEADLY with a handgun folks.

We live in the country outside of a large city. When we go to the suburbs we hardly ever carry because all of the counties have CCW laws. The big city is a different story, run by socialist democrats they have done everything in their power to stop CCW including breaking the state law. Now when we go to the city my wife and I both carry.

In terms of what to carry I prefer a weapon that I can consistently hit a target with in a high stress situation. Stopping power is important but carrying a .45 when you can't hit the side of a barn with it will do you little good. My wife carries a small .380 with corbon and she hits what she points at. I carry a Sig 229 .40 S&W and it is extremely accurate. I shoot between 150 to 400 rounds a month almost year round, the wife shoots about 500 rounds a year. Practice is the key and you might consider joining something like IDPA or IPSC, it really helps you get much more accurate, moving, firing, reloading and hitting what you want under a stressful situation.

Agree strongly and do carry.

S&W 9mm with a tac light is my usual. Sometimes I carry my Glock .45 with a lazer, but it makes it difficult to aim at the right target in the dark without a tac light.

Luckily I have never had to pull it and I pray I never do. As far as pulling it over personal belongings, I'm no idiot. I'll give up anything to keep from shooting someone else. If they threaten my life with a weapon then it's on, but if they make no threats and only ask for the goods, then it's theirs(not the gun, just the money or car or whatever they are wanting, but never the gun).

I agree but I don't carry. In CA they have a strict examinatino that you must go through before you can carry, you actually have to take a fire arms class and have to qualify at a certain leve. I you can't do this than you don't get the permit. I really thint that is a good idea for all states that allow carries to put in effect.

You're right, concealed carry laws are very effective on crime and in many cases prevent a crime from happening. But there should be some sort of a firearm proficiency test to make sure that if you needed to use your gun you wouldn't kill an innocent bystander.

I believe that violence here on earth leads only to more violence here on earth, I do not own a gun and even if I had a hand gun I would not carry one. I have used handguns, I liked target shooting and wasn't to bad at it. I could use a military .45 just a little better than necessary, I liked 9mm automatic, but since it wasn't military issue ...

Back in civilian life I have found no need for a handgun. Target shooting is fun, but I wasn't good enough for tournaments, so the time and expense ... besides I like fishing more.

I believe in concealed carry laws. I believe that you should be able to openly carry if you want. And I agree, you need to be educated on how to use it. A gun in the hand of a novice is of little use at all.

I absolutely agree with the right to carry a concealed weapon. It's great.

But I do not own a handgun (can't afford it right now). But if I did own one, I'd certainly get my CCW.

I've been eying this .45 ACP...

well i believe anyone should be able to defend themselves.

that said, the person must be responsible to carry a firearm, if they take that long to fire a weapon that defeats the purpose.
