I am looking at ordering a Halloween costume and my measurements are exactly in between sizes on the size chart and I don't know what to do. The costume is a cowgirl costume and is supposed to fit very well. I know that I need the small top because I am small up top but I don't know what to do about the bottom. My hip measurement fits in both the small and medium category and that is what I am having trouble deciding between. Last year my costume was a one size fits all and the years before that I never dressed up or I made my own costumes. So I don't know what to do. I could always buy the medium to be on the safe side but I really don't want to go through all the trouble of taking it in. Also the last time I took measurements to get fitted for a bridesmaid dress the lady made me go up a size and the dress was way too big. So I really just want to know if they run bigger or smaller and if maybe somebody else has been in the same situation and they can tell me what they did. Thanks!

suprised to see previous people's answers saying smaller - i order loads of costumes for stage productions and they're always bigger

LAst year I wwent with the smaller size for my pirate costume tht was also supossed to be tight fitting. Wrong chice I would have went one size up. It is more comfortable.

there smaller depending on what part of your body is bigger if your shape like a boy you will have no problem but if you have *** or chest or both your gonna want to try them on before you leave the store

Most costumes i have bought were smaller than they would say!!
