sure. under your engine which is located in the rear of your bug,you will see in the center of it a round cover with about 6 bolts in it. right in the center of this plate you will see 1 center bolt. the size is 17mm or 11/16 in size. loosen this bolt, place a drip pan under plug and screw bolt completly out. oil will drain. after oil has drained replace drain bolt and tighten securley. raise the engine cover, look on the right side of engine, you will see a round black cap approx.2to 2-1/2 inches in dia. remove and with a funnel add 3 quarts of 10 w 30 oil such as castrol, etc all should be fine

The Oil Sump plate on your Beetle is in the center under your
engine held on by 6 ea. 10mm Castle nuts. If it is the origional
sump plate then it will not have a drain plug in the middle of it.
You must go to your parts store and get a Sump kit for your car
consisting of 2 gaskets and 6 small copper washers. The gaskets go to either side of your oil screen that will come out when you remove the sump plate, the 6 washers go under the
castle nuts when you reinstall the sump plate.......be carefull not
to overtorque them cause they will tend to pull out of the aluminum engine block.....best to find a shop knowledgable about
old beetles and let them do it. Good luck!

Some people put kits in their V dubs to add an oil cooler and a spin on filter. Makes changing it easier and helps cool the engine.
