I am really scared what to do...I am getting fever since moring which goes away on taking paracetamol but comes back in an hour...My Gyn told me to avoid taking para before 8 hrs as its not good to take para in 2-3 hours interval...But my fever goes beyond 102 deg. Far. which I was told is harmful for my baby....She told me to go for cold sponging but what if it has no effect with that?

yes am getting a blood test done tomorrow...but we have Chicken gunia, Monkey gunia, Elephan gunia and Malaria outbreak in our state. I don't have symptoms of any of those...but I had an Imferon (intramuscular iron for severe anaemia Hg-7) shot yesterday...Could it be due to that..anybody has experience.

Listen to your doctor, but from one mother to another, you will know if something is not right. If you have that feeling then the odds are you're correct and go get yourself checked out as soon as possible. If you believe it's only a cold then try sponging off and putting cold washcloths behind your neck, under your arms, and behind your knees and just rest rest rest. Drink lots of water and try not to stress. Listen to your instincts, more times than not you'll be right. Good luck to you!

If you are pregnant and have a fever over 100.4, your doctor needs to be monitoring you closely. Try the cold sponging thing, but if that doesn't work, call her back and get more suggestions. Taking more para than she suggests is not a safe option right now.

you need to go to the DR to have some test run, fever is a sign of an infection somewhere in the body. that infection may be even more harmful to your baby than the fever itself...get some bloodwork done ASAP
