Clothes line. Only cost $5 yet has cut my electricity bill by hundreds a year. The suns ultraviolet rays kills any remaining bacteria and bleaches clothes. Also gives me a chance to talk to the lady next door.

I am with nido on the Dyson, it was an excellent investment. However, long term investment it would have to be my food saver. It sames me time and money among other things, and not just when it comes to food. I took the suggestion form the infomercial and vacuum sealed some of my belongings before storing them in my mothers attic during a relocation. Last winter the attic roof leaked and things were destroyed, but not the things that I had stored with the food saver.

My Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner. There's nothing (well...maybe a few things) this vacuum can't do, and I swear it is so good that you actually WANT to vacuum all around the house!!!
