Newborns open their eyes as soon as they're born, so you'll be able to look into her sweet, puffy, big blue eyes as soon as she's born. :)
Generally with caucasian babies, they're born with very dark blue eyes and they (if they're going to) change gradually. The general rule of thumb is that whatever color her eyes are at 6 months is what color they're going to stay. Some babies eyes' continue to change up to 9 months, but usually what she has at 6 months is what she'll keep.
Everyone on my side of the family has brown or hazel eyes and everyone on my husband's side has blue/gray. Brown is a dominant gene, so I figured both of my boys (or at least one of them!) would have darker eyes, but they're both blue eyed. My older son's eyes are so light, they're almost like a husky blue, and my younger son's eyes are a medium blue.

Well when they handed me my daughter for the first time, her eyes were wide open. Her eyes were a very deep blue which I was sort of surprised about since my husband and I both have light blue/blue green eyes. The eyes change a lot in the first year of life and eye color will not really be determined for at least a year. My daughter is 2 now and has the same blue eyes as my husband and would guess that they will probably stay that way.

They open their eyes right away. From my experience with my 2 and those in my family with children, all of their eyes are so dark it is hard to decipher what color they are until about 3 months old. However, my oldest had deep blue eyes with a brownish ring until he was 9 months old, then they turned brown. My youngest had brilliant blue eyes, but now he is 5 and they turn from blue, to green, to grey. My hubby and I both have very dark brown eyes, but my mother in law and several sister in laws have blue/green. Congrats on the baby!!

babies can open their eyes right away - but they usually don't stay open for very long. Not for the first few days.
babies are born with blue eyes and their color can change over time. Both you and your husband have to carry a green eye gene for the baby to inherit it as well.

Newborns may even come out of the womb w/ their eyes open! One of my children did. Now how much and how clearly they can see is another question. All of my children had blue eyes at birth, but as they got older, the eye color changed. I can't remember when exactly this happened, but I want to say like within the first 6 months. Congratulations!! :)

New borns open their eyes almost immediately :) But the color is not the life long color. That can take up to a year to come in.
most babies have blue or black/brown eyes at birth. But they change over the coming months.

Your baby opens their eyes at 27 weeks, while your still pregnant. (S)He will have their eyes open after birth. Majority of babies have blue eyes when they are born and then they may change. Usually around 4 to 5 months.

Umm, your babies eyes will be open at birth. As for the color of it's eyes, they usually are blue at birth and can take up to 6 months to change to their permanent color. (If they change at all) You cannot predict the color of their eyes, because they will be what they will. My Hubby and I have dark brown eyes, and our daughter has blue/green, go figure...Hope this helps and congrats on your bundle on the way!
