After Steve Irwin's death, I felt sad because he was a true conservationist. He did not have any agenda that related to politics. He just protected the planet. Now you have politicians who have snucked in and tainted the meaning of Ecological Conservation. They have changed it from save the trees to stop President X from something...

You see, politicians now saying "we are ecologically sustainable" but they don't put their money where it should be. They are using the term just to get votes... In architectural terms, it called "Green wash". Green wash is using conservation terms and not doing it.

What are your views on this because as a member of the Austrlian Conservation Society, I feel sad that politics has tainted the very core of ecological conservation. Your views anyone.
I am not here to offend but i am shocked that most people would pave the forest than save the forest for personal gain. I know there are true conservationists out there and we are not hippies too.

Harry, join the gang, i completely agree with what you say. Steve is a great person and India has been paying her homage to him.

Australia is not alone when it comes to political propaganda or Green wash. There has been many controversies here as well about forest officials/minister taking bribes, which has, luckily been caught on tape and those people have been dismissed from duty! But people higher up the political ladder are still making empty promises.

I think what needs to be done is creating a workforce, similar to the Red Cross or WHO and blow the whistles on the politicians about their unfulfilled promises. Asia espicially, has been blessed with all types of forests and wildlife it is a shame that no onw wants to conserve God's beautiful gifts.

Yeah the Libs will turn anything into a a political argument.

Someone may say ....hmmmm........ It's nice today the sun feels warm on my skin, I love it!

The liberal next to him would blame Bush for global warming, and how the polar ice caps are melting, and we are going to drown. All because Bush wants more oil!

Steve Irwin was a Great Man when it came to Conservation. There is a Vast differance between Conservation and how some would eliminate hunting all together....and Desimation ie Poaching, poachers should be punished severely unless it is a matter of subsistance.
Steve will be missed by "CRIKEY"
