It had nothing to do with Iran. However, with the new president of Iran things have changed. This new president has a very conservative Islamic view of the world. In part this view encompasses the belief that we are in the “end times” and that it is the duty of true believers to move the world toward the final war which includes the destruction of Israel. In this he is similar to some conservative sects of both Christianity and Judaism. The difference being that he is a head of State fully supported by the religious leaders of Iran.

Why we enter Iraq has been asked here in various forms and many times. Answers have ranged all over the spectrum often dependant on the answerer’s political perspective. Many of the answers fall into one of two groups, those who support President Bush and those who hate President Bush, neither of this camps will alter their opinion.

Those who believe it was for oil aren’t really supported by the facts because before the war little of the Iraqi oil came to the United States and since the war even that has been reduced to near zero. Those countries who received large amounts of Iraqi oil, such as France, have been against the war. It would have been far easier to support the former government of Iraq on an agreement to garner additional oil if that was the goal.

While hind sight is always so perfect, at the time of the invasion nearly all intelligent agencies agreed that Iraq was building weapons of mass destruction. Add to this that this was next to the Afghanistan where the United States was already fighting terrorists linked to the September 11, 2001 latest attack on United State citizens and the fact that Iraq was rewarding the families of successful suicide bombers, and that it had already been demonstrated that the Iraqi government would ruthlessly kill hundreds of thousands of its own citizens, the justification to invade Iraq is quite easy.

That the war in Iraq has not turned out to be as originally predicted as terrorists driven out of Afghanistan swarmed into Iraq and support for religious war came in from Iran, has changed the nature of the war. What is most significant is to keep in mind that the terrorists see no other solution than the death of the West. All peoples of the world must (in their eyes) become their extremist view of religious zealots with no room for any other way of life. All of this is part of the reasons for invading Iraq.

I believe that we did invade Iraq and Afghanistan for the reasons given, but also that you are partially right. One unspoken reason for invading both of them was that we could bracket Iran. Iran is the head of the dragon for world terrorism and if we invade, they will face a two front war.

that's damn close to no longer accessible to over-exaggerate the importance of this concern. suitable right here 3 elements make this such an explosive cocktail which will blow up in our faces: a million. Iran is coming up nuclear "skill" which it obviously does no longer favor, in fact that's coming up a nuclear bomb. 2. If Iran does strengthen a nuclear bomb lower than the radar of the west then it is going to likely be in a position to apply it in besides it needs because it has no longer signed the proliferation treaty. 3. The president of Iran is an complete and utter madman. he has already denied that there are any homosexuals in his united states and expressed a favor to "wipe Israel off the map". that's for those causes that i believe that the west could launch a pre-emptive strike antagonistic to Iran. it must be now earlier that's in simple terms too late and we are up antagonistic to a united states with nuclear guns.
