Time and time again .. especially now.. (for governor, senator, presidents and so on..) I have been hearing negative ads. The ads are basically talking about others's fault, nothing about what they can do. I heard people say US has the best voting system and say to exercise your right, you should vote the corrupted politicans out. Now, to me it turns out whoever you vote, they are bunch of hyprocrites! they only point out others' mistake.. I tell you what.. I can do that too.. why don't you vote me!???

So, to those who vote.. do you vote because you are voting less evil or just exercise your right because you think we have to?

And to those who complain at all about Bush or Clinton should shut up because that is picked from your votes (majority),... Why complain since this is picked from you!!!

At the age of 65 and having lived in three different States, I can say I have never missed an opportunity to vote whether at the national, State, or local jurisdiction.

That said, one thing that might help people to vote is to add one option to the ballot. As the last candidate to vote for for each office have the line:

"None of the Above"

Make it so that it could win resulting in no one holding that office. This would necessitate a new election with candidates more focused on voter concerns.

I vote. I have in every city, state, and national election since I turned 18. Its a right as an American to vote. I vote because its my right, and because its an honor. There are countries in the world where no one can vote or only men can, I vote because as an American woman I have the right to vote and woman in America fought hard for me to have this right. I vote because regardless of what the world thinks about my country I love my country and I am proud to be an American.
I also vote because I have friends and family stationed all over the world right now and the people in office not only decide things like what countries we will be in, but their pay, the equipment upgrades they get etc.
If you dont like the people in office, you have the right to run yourself. Or try and get people you feel would do a better job in office. I also feel in about 20-30 years when our generations are heading most of the elected offices in DC things will be better as our generation is more open minded than the majority of the 45+ year olds in office now.
But here's my thought, if you dont vote, you shouldnt get to complain about the people in office since you had a chance to put them there or get them out.
