I think one man can be in the forefront of the changing of history, however, they would need loyal people around them to make it work successfully. Look at the radical leaders such as Hitler, Castro, they have made changes however not alone.

its takes one powerful man to inspire the group effort that makes a difference.
power takes three froms. personal power i.e. charisma (think nelson mandela, ghandi etc), positional power i.e. being the boss, situational power i.e. being in right place at right time (think war time leader like winston churchil)
