I connected to a network at my workplace. The network works fine. I can browse shared docs from computers in my network. But when I am having hard time connecting to the internet. I dont know the default gateway of my network. and I cant ask. Any way to find the default gateway? Do you think the problem is from the default gateway?

try ipconfig (assuming you are running windows) or ifconfig {interface name} (if unix/linux)

it sounds to my like a proxy server problem, you probably just need to input that info on the internet options window under LAN settings. Either way you're going to have to ask for that info. If its not that the best way you can check the default gateway is if you know how to use "cmd" type "ipconfig" and it'll tell you the default gateway you're in.
or if you don't know how
- Click start button -click "Run"
- Type "cmd"
- This will take you to a DOS command promt- Type "ipconfig"
- The default gateway should be the last one if its not there then you definetly have a problem with it.

Default gateway should be your router's IP address. The router would route the traffic to Internet.

Go to---Run----type cmd&give enter
command mode will appear
type ipconfig(here u have give space)/all
ipconfig /all
