They need to realize that the fans make them famous. If it weren't for them they wouldn't be so well known. The worst experience I had was with Chili of TLC and Usher. I was at the local mall and they were being very rude to all the fans that were saying hello and asking them for autographs.

Ive never really had a bad encounter with a celebrity. Ive never been in the situation for that to occur. The only person who was ever a jerk to me was (this is such a surprise....haha) Barry Bonds. For those who live in a cage, thats the San Francisco Giants baseball player who totally is on steroids, but denies it. Yeah, i remember the situation like it was yesterday. But i was 10 years old at the time, and he totally stiffed me for an autograph. It wasnt like i was a middle age autograph hound. I was a little 10 year old kid!!!
I think celebrities lash out and most of the time, they have no reason to. When you become an actor or actress or singer or something, you KNOW that you are going to be hounded by paparazzi and fans. Granted, some of these fans and photographers get out of control. And that is when things get really ugly.
If i were a celebrity, and there were a bunch of photographers following me, i'd stop for a few photos and then keep walking. Make an offer. If they take 10 photos, they let me shop in peace or whatever.
I can understand why some celebrities do get irritated, i mean they cant do anything privately, because everything they do is public, but it comes with the territory.

I think it depends on the celebrity... and the fan. :)
I have had the opportunity meet Tom Wopat on a couple of occassions and he's always been very humble and polite. On one occassion, it seemed like he couldn't walk 6 feet without someone stopping him to ask for a picture of autograph. But he was never short or acted like he was being bothered.
On the other side, I've also met John Schneider. The first time I met him, I thought he acted like he was "too good" to associate with the common folk. But when I met him again several years later, he was very, very sweet and nice. I guess he was having a better day! lol!
Let's face it... some 'fans' are just plain nuts too!

I know a lot of them do. I met a Brian and Kevin from the Backstreet Boys once at the airport the night before they were doing a concert here ... it was awesome because it was late at night and no one knew when they were coming in, so I had them all to myself. They were extremely nice and down to Earth. They gave me autographs and took pictures and said my camera was really nice (even though one they could get would be a million times better). That was when they were at their biggest too, I was totally in love with them.
Sooo, that would be my worst experience, since it's my only experience.

Yes some do. They ignore the fans that made them what they are. I've only met a couple of celebrities. I met Burt Ward (Robin on the old Batman and Robin TV series), Donny Osmond, and Gordon Jump. I think Burt Ward was one of the most conceited people I've ever met.

I think it is funny how some of them get all pissed off about their photos being taken or someone asking for their autograph. I mean they are in the public eye and they choose to be. Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake are a joke. They constantly hit photographers and make scenes about it yet they have chosen these public careers, what do they expect?

Hanging out at a show, I ran into my idol... Tried to get him to sign an autograph and he had security swarm all over me. Needless to say I don't listen to them anymore, and nobody likes any of their new music so they'll soon be out of the biz.

of course it depends on the celeb. but overall I think all celebs are really really happy with their fans. Its just you want some time to yourself but people won't let you, so it builds up and you snap. And you begin to yell and scream at photogs and "fans" and that makes the front page of the paper.

Most do...there are exceptions however. For example...I met Jim Carrey once and he was such a cool sport and very down to earth.
