I'd like to tell what I know about dreams in general before I tell you about mine, because I'm not sure that everyone understands what dreams really are.
Our minds are very complex places where information is gathered, stored and processed. We use all this information to help us decide what to do from one moment to the next. It can be compared to the way a computer works, since computers were designed by human minds to be "thinking machines."
In particular, we have conscious thoughts which are whatever we are actively thinking at a particular moment. Compare this with the part of your computer's information that is currently being displayed on the monitor. But there is more happening in a mind or inside a computer than just what is on the screen. For anything that is actively on the screen, you can be sure that there are other programs and sub-programs that are supporting the current page. And there is a whole lot of information that has been gathered that is not being actively used. Everything that is not "displayed on the screen" of your mind is stored in the part of the mind that is usually called the un- or sub-conscious mind.
If your computer was like our organic mind and it recieved inputs from absolutely everything that ever happened near it, then a computer would occasionally have to take some time out to process all of this new information. Otherwise its storage would fill up too quickly, it's programming would have to choose among conflicting bits of data and decide what to keep and what to throw away. Computers are actually not complex enough or self-regulating enough to do all that unless we tell them to- which we do to some extent with anti-virus and registry software- but our organic computer- our minds- do have to do exactly that. This is why humans need a much longer period of uninterrupted sleep than other animals do.
Dreams are the partially-conscious mind peeking at the screen while the mind is doing its internal housekeeping. We are seeing all of our partially-formed thoughts, all our "what if's", all of the thoughts that we don't quite understand floating through our consciousness on the way to either permanent storage or the recycle bin. Dreams are mental processing- nothing more, nothing less.
Many people learn to control their dreams and they have a lot of fun doing that. I have never really thought that dreaming lucidly was the best way to let my mind rest and let it process the way it wants to, but you know what? I only own my own mind. It isn't for me to tell other people what to do with theirs.
Like so many other people, I often dream that I can do things that I don't get to do while I'm awake. I can fly, I am always right, I can lift any object, I don't have to wear clothes and I'm much more confrontational with the imaginary people in my dreams than I could ever be with the real people in my waking life.
I like being alive and I feel that being alive includes many long moments of being awake. In fact, the more awake I am, the more alive I feel and the more real. Maybe when I die, I will permanently retreat into my dream world or maybe that will die as well. I can't say for sure. I do know that my real life is what happens while I'm awake and that I need some time each day to process all the new information.
Nap time!

People often try to interpret dreams based only on what happened in the dream and forget to think about how they felt during the dream. How did you feel when your cousin got killed ? Were you sad ? This dream may be telling you nothing more complicated than you are afraid of losing your cousin (perhaps he or she is soon going to go away to study, or is in a romantic relationship that leaves little time for you etc.)
Don't look outside yourself for the meaning of a dream - there is no deity out there trying to send you a coded message. A dream is a play put on by your mind - often in response to your fears or desires, or just a replay of the days events with some little twists

I always think that dreams predict future events and possibly your destiny. While this may be true, they can also depict your deepest fears, strong emotional urges and true thoughts. Just the other night I had this awesome dream about being a real-life character in the popular video games series Halo. It was great. But then there are times where you will have dreams that seem completely pointless or horrid. It is definetely a strange thing, dreams.

I have had some dreams that I preferred over 'reality', although usually I prefer reality. I once dreamed that I lived on a different planet, was a woman/bird (great horned owl with woman's face, wings AND hands and arms, combo human-bird legs, bird feet, feathers on my torso, etc.). The planet was beautiful; the air was brisk and crystal-clear. I loved and made love with a mate. It was WONDERFUL. That was a dreamtime difficult to leave.
- I've also flown around, talked to people I don't know in this 3D reality.
- But, I'm here, and here is where I'm manifesting those things my dreamtime is assisting with. So, I prefer to be here WITH my dreamtime. :-)

My dreams are great. Sometimes they can be sad. Lately I have been having weird dreams where I would wake up and be like "Omg, thankyou it was just a dream" but for the split second there of first waking up I would think it was real.
I really prefer my dreams to be about me accomplishing my real life dreams and goals. If only it were possible to choose your dreams.

I often have a recurring dream that i am stood in the middle of a busy road in pink pj's. Every time i attempt to reach the roadside i give birth to a baby. Eventually an ambulance comes and takes me to the hospital but they always forget to pick the babies up from the road. I don't know what this means but it never seems familiar, every time is like i am dreaming it for the first time.

Not the dreams I have at night, no. My dreams in the sense of daydreams, plans for the future, yes. My reality right now is boring in the extreme, but my dream is to use the money in my retirement account to open a bookstore in Boulder Creek, California, and "retire" to running it and being a part of this fine, fun, funky community.

I have constantly creepy scary dreams that wake me up in a cold sweat.
But, like Andromeda, I use them for writing inspiration. I'm always happy when I hear from someone who's read one of my stories and it's given them a bit of the terror the dreams give me.

Dreams? I woul like to pursue some of my dreams if those are the type youu are talking about.
As for night dreams, mine can be AWESOME when I do not wear my CPAP. Sleep apnea rocks. Well maybe not. But I have weird dreams whenn the oxygen doesn't quite make it to the brain.
