Brown is dominant, and green is actually a lighter variety of brown, so it is also dominate.
But every person has two sets of genes (one from father and one from mother) and sometimes people with brown/green eyes will have inherited the gene for blue eyes form one of their parents, who could have inherited it from one of their parents. Genes like these can carry for hundreds of years undetected, and as long as one of the two genes is brown/green, it will always show instead of the recessive (non dominant) blue.
So it is possible for you two to have a blue eyed baby, but it is a 1 in 4 chance, since you don't both know you're lineage.
There is a 1 in 2 chance the baby will have brown or green eyes.
Hope this helps.

I think brown is usually dominant but, you could also have a child with green or blue eyes since green is in the blue category. I have green eyes and my husband has brown. My son's eyes are brown, my daughters a light blue/green.

It is true that brown is domenate. I have brown eyes and my husband has light blue eyes. My son's eyes ended up being hazel.

Brown IS dominant, but when you look into your childs eyes, the color will be the LAST thing you'll notice. You'll be too busy drowning in the joy of it. Color will seem trivial, because whatever color it is will become your new FAVORITE eye color.

It's all genetics...My mom has brown and my dad has blue...both 3 of my grandparents have brown eyes and one has blue.
My brother has blue
sister green
and i have brown
It's all a luck of the draw on the genetic gene pool...all that other junk is just old wives tales...

Does it really matter what color the eyes will be? As long as your baby is healthy and can "see" out of those brown or green eyes. Are you going to love the baby less if his/her eyes are brown? I don't think so. It doesn't really matter.
