Priests have nothing much left to do since their whole pedophilia act was discovered... Priests are bored out of their skulls, preaching a science-fiction biased and sexist false propaganda to faith-hungry masses.
Since priests don't have much of anything "real" to do anymore, they take people like you and I and think we are "posessed" by "demons" and try to make examples out of us...
