Western Civiliazaton got from Greece :
1. Politics.
Direct Democracy was born in ancient Athens. For the first time human being had the wright to elect and to be elected in contraddiction to the past that kings obtained this right by their parents. Modern democratic systems still follow certain rules and political theories borrowed by ancient greece.
2. Scientific thought.
It was born in ancient Greece by the first philosophers. It was the first time that human being tried to give scientific explanations away from religional answers on questions of the style ''how the world was created'', ''what material it consisted of'', ''why human becomes sick'', ''how treatment can occure''.
As a result, human being used Philosofia (=filos+sofia=friend of knowledge) which is internationally considered the start of all sciences (Medicine/Hippocrates, Mathematics/Pythagoras and many others).See relative scientific terminology derriving from greek.
3. Ethic rules
The first theories regarding ethic rules were created in ancient greece(Plato, Aristotle, Socrates). Later on, Christianism would borrow several values from them and would include them in theory of Christianism (the idea of Paradise from Plato, and ethic values from Aristotle).
4. The first private antiquity collections which resulted in the todays Museums.
In italy during Rennaissance it was rediscovered the ancient Greek art and the ancient Greek litterature. The first private collections of art (antiquities and painture) were obtained by Medici who bought Greek antiquities (statues atc) from privates who were selling them (the official science of Archeology did not exist yet). These private collections were the first collections which resulted in the meaning of what today we call museum.
5. Architecture
During the first official escavations in Europe (Pompei, Heraklion) it was discovered once again the ancient world and the architecture has borrowed several styles from classic years' architecture (see several buildings in European capitals, Ruhmeshalle (Munch), Nationaltheater at Gartner Platz, the internal of Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek at Cpenhagen etc
Rome has influenced the law system of western countries as well as army procedures.
Christianity has provided a uniformity on certain aspects of the today's western civilization (common language-Evangelium was written in greek language). Additionally it has spread the western type of civilization to Asia people through education and connected people with different culture, different habits under Byzantium flag (lasted 1000 years)
I propose if you wish to study further on this subject to look for the following book :

Philosophy, architecture and nearly all things we associate with being beautiful. They are the foundations of our culture. Ultimately, each of these subjects you ask about represent a particular 'school of thought' which leads the student to what is known as "Initiation" or 'self-realization'. There is a group which unified the 'schools' around the late 1300's. They are still active in teaching the accumulation of this knowledge. They are known as the Rosicrucian's. Hope this helps!

3. Siddharta Gautama was a prince who left a life of riches and grandeur, at age 40, to seek truth and enlightenment. Buddha means "the enlightened". 4.Nirvana is the ultimate state of consciousness where one is supposedly "at one" with all and everything OR apparently in NOTHINGNESS (no ego, no self, but cosmic consciousness). Moksha is the process of the final stage of liberation from the cycle of re-incarnation . . . towards nirvana state. 5.Buddhism teaches self-discovery, inner search and self-improvement towards selflessness and compassion and thereby attaining peace and contentment. With such doctrines as foundation, there is no discrimination, segregation, class distinction or attachment to worldly things and hence it attracted followers from all caste systems and women (women were considered inferior in ancient India). It was the first movement/religion that advocated equal rights for women. 6 During the Qin Dynasty (circa 220 BCE), Buddhism had already spread to China via the Silk Route. Through the subsequent following few dynasties like Han through Tang dynasties, Buddhist texts were translated and became more widespread into Korean and subsequently into Japan, Thailand, etc. 7. 4 noble truths state the truth of why there are sufferings and the 8-fold paths are ways for one to avoid/minimise sufferings through the practice of 8-fold paths. 8. The only common thread in Buddhism and Hinduism (as far as I know) is karma. 12. From earliest known dynasties, even in Song and Tang, women's role had been more or less equal to that of men. The first Chinese Empress, Wu Tze-tian, was from Tang Dynasty. Mu Lan was a lady general of a much earlier era. Politically, in ancient China, Chinese women were not dogmatically nor politically suppressed as inferior. In Chinese culture, the yin and yang (feminine and masculine) stood as equal and oppositie. 13. Foot-binding was practised by a very minority of the population in ancient China (China was/is diverse with currently 56 ethnic groups and there could be more in ancient China). It was believed by some that small-foot was more attractive and lady-like, especially one with small-foot could walk more sexily. 14. Golden Ages as overall, those were the periods of great affluence, high literacy rates and freedom (in everything including religious beliefs, *China had since ancient time practised religious freedom) and advancements in arts and culture. 15. Sino-centrism was because China had for the last 2000 years considered itself the most powerful and militarily dominant and the center of the world. The name of China is Chinese character is zhongguo meaning center country. The emperor was tian zi (son of heaven) and tian xia (under heaven) was ruled by him - thus it was considered that all humans were under his domain.

Violence. Greeks and Romans feeding Christians to lions (poor lions!). Christians killing off Muslims in crusades in name of God, killing heathen native Americans in name of God. Jews just killed anyone not "chosen" by God.
