Third party software might get it back. It depends on rather it is over written or not. The more effective ones are a little pricey, so you may want to take it to pros who already own it. The more you use the drive, the less chance that you will get it.
DO NOT DO A SYSTEM RESTORE. That only restores the system state. NOT FILES. It has more potential to mess things up than fix them. Like I said the more you run it the less chance that you get it. You will also be overwriting registry keys and that could mess up software. Microsoft should hide this function so that people who don't know what they are doing, don't know it is there. It very rarely helps with any problem.

When files are deleted they are really not deleted and they can possible be restored. To do this you want to make sure you dont use your hard drive to much as you could overwrite these files and then it will be hard to retrieve them.
You need a third party program to retrieve deleted files
When you delete a file it will just delete the file name from the index and it doesn't actually delete the file. you just cant see it. A third party program can bring it back. If you done a lot of saving to your hard drive then you have less chance in getting it back as it can be overwritten.

you cant .....once it is deleted from the recycle bin . it is still left on the hard drive but the computer puts a code on it so the space it occupies on the hard drive can be used again ...effectively overwriting it ......
If the information is very important there are prgrammes which can seach your hard drive for deleted items ...they are not always effective and cant always recover all the data ...

You would have to do a system restore to see if that brings the file back. If not, depending on the file type, it is gone forever.
